Product Description

The CM4040 GESCAP Power Factor Controller was designed to automate the control of capacitor banks in single-phase or three-phase systems (check model), balanced or unbalanced, with or without distributed generation (solar/photovoltaic plant). It maintains the power factor within the parameters pre-established by the user, ensuring the elimination or reduction of reactive surplus (power factor fines), reducing energy costs, and optimizing the use of the electrical structure, making it more available.

In addition to increasing energy utilization and reducing costs, the CM4040 GESCAP power factor controller increases system availability and safety by adjusting reactive power. This control, in addition to keeping the power factor within limits, reduces current, reduces conductor temperatures, and increases the useful life of assets present in the structure.

Embrasul's CM4040 is an intelligent device that is easy to configure and can measure and record electrical quantities such as voltage, current, power, energy, consumption, demand, among others, keeping them in its mass memory, acting as a meter/datalogger, and capable of integration with supervisory and energy management systems in local networks or via telemetry. Equipped with a native Ethernet port, and together with the Power5000, it allows data telemetry, alarm emission based on PF, demand, consumption, voltage levels, and other user-defined triggers.

In its exclusive capacitor management function “GESCAP”, it saves the history of output activations, revealing anomalies and malfunctions, in addition to monitoring the bank temperature. Through GESCAP, it is possible to predict maintenance, replace capacitor cells, evaluate and simulate compensation kVAr and calculate the insertion of new capacitors with commercial values, and all this without going to the site, via the Internet.
